Whether we like to admit it or not, we all need counseling. We all need advice. We all need instruction. The real question is–“Where are we going to get our counsel from?” In Isaiah 19:17, the Bible says, “And the land of Judah shall be a terror to Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.” The greatest counsel we can ever receive comes from the LORD of hosts. His counsel is always free. His counsel is always accurate. His counsel is always available. There have been many times in my own life, when I followed the counsel of my heart, or the counsel of others, and it led to many foolish decisions. Isaiah 9:6 tells us that one of the names of the Lord Jesus Christ is the “Counselor.” Let’s run to the “Counselor” today, and let’s not only listen to advice, let’s follow it.
